He is sire of 10 approved stallions like champion sire "Gribaldi" (two of his sons won second reserve champion at Neumünster 2000 and 2001), premium sire "Tolstoi" (sire of "Farinelli" and "Freudenfest" - both champion at the Trakehner stallion selection) and premium stallion "Silvermoon" (his son "Cadeau" was second reserve champion at Neumünster 2001); "Elfado" won the Trakehner Riding Championship 2008 and the young premium-stallion Saint Cyr (2009).
"Kostolany" is also well known for his successful daughters, e.g. "Carara", "Kandra, "Chamonix", "Herzlani" and others, who are always successful at horse-shows for broodmares, performance-tests for mares and national championships.
On the occasion of the broodmare-show Niedersachsen 2002 his daughters "Vis-a-Vis" and "Kassiopeia" were honoured with the 1b-price.

On paternal side of "Kostolanys" pedigree the champions of the performance test for stallions "Mahagoni" and "Amagun" emphasize the dressage qualities.
You'll also find "Ozean", who produced several good show-jumping horses.

On the dam side you'll find the sires " Falke" and "Ibikus".
"Falke" succeeded in dressage tests up to advanced level in USA. Three of his sons are approved sires and he also produced the championess of the national broodmare show at Verden "Kleeblatt".
"Ibikus", champion of the National Agricultural Fair (DLG) and who became fourtimes German Riding Champion, produced several approved stallions like "Kassiber", "Karneval", "Kastilio", "Valerian", "Vincent", "Wie Ibikus" and "Arrak". He too was successful in dressage tests at advanced level. Aged 25 he had his last big appearance in public at the had his last big appearance in public at the Trakehner gala show at Neumünster.
His sire "Hertilas" (by the famous dam "Herbstgold" by "Totilas") has also been successful at advanced level.

"Kostolany" is out of the famous mare family of Kassette (main Stud Trakehnen).
The strain of "Kassandra" brought the Olympic horse "Immanuel" as well as several sires (for example "Kadett", "Kapitän", "Karneol" and "Kassius", not to forgett DLG and national broodmare championesse "Kassiopeia" - all beeing full-sisters to the third dam "Kaprice II").
"Kaprice II". "Kassiopeia" is dam of the sires " Kassiber" (eventer champion at Australia), " Kastilio" (champion of the performance test for stallions and winner in dressage competitions up to Kl.S) and elite mare " Kleopatra II".

Kostolany's grand-dam, "Karben " by "Ibikus" is dam of:
- "Karon" (premium sire, successful in i dressage test advanced level and sire of "Caprimond")
- "Karim" (selected, now based in Brasil).
- "Kassandra" (dam of "Weltspitze" - champion of the Bundeschampionat at Warendorf and also
   most expensive horse at the Oldenburger elite auction, sold for DM 590.000,--)
- "Kassuben" (dam of the approved sire " Kapriolan F", price hit Medingen Sales
   DM 300.000,--, and the premium mare "Kasita", who also hit the price at the auction).

"Kaprice II" is dam of the sire "Karneval" (based in the USA)and with her daughter "Kapriziöse" grand-dam of the approved sires "Kaspareit" (USA) and "Kapuccino" (successful in show jumping at advanced level).
